Uhm Ys I and II are originally from 1987 and ’88. Your surmamy describes at least 50% of RPGs back then. The series has greatly improved in most every regard you complain about since then. Honestly, if you’d like a good look at what the series is like today and a particularly good game in the series besides I’d recommend Oath in Felghana.
